Delta Barcoding

DataSaint has enhanced the Delta Warehousing module by adding barcoding and scanning capabilities to this module.

The enhancements cater for both receiving and issuing of stock with stock takes scheduled to be added later in the year. Bin Locations are uniquely identified by a barcoded label affixed to the bin. Warehouse personnel can print bin location labels with unique barcodes per Store / Bin Group / Bin Location / Item.

Receiving of goods – Warehouse binning operators can utilize wireless scanners to bin goods received. The wireless handheld scanners will notify the operator whether the goods are being binned into the correct bin location. This will reduce the risk of stock discrepancies by misplacing items in incorrect bin locations.

Issuing of goods – Stock pickers can also utilize the wireless scanners to pick stock by referring to a barcoded picking slip. It ensures that the correct goods requested are picked from the correct location and the scanner will notify the operator whether he is picking the correct item form the correct bin location. It reduces the risk of issuing the incorrect goods by picking items from the incorrect bin locations. Once the operator confirms the actual quantity picked, stock balances and financial transactions are updated immediately.
